Prospective, quantitative cohort study that recruited 130 participants, 100 of the participants had vaginal delivery while 30 had Caesarean section. Consecutive sampling was done until the calculated sample size was reached. Transperineal imaging was done with the patient in a semirecumbent position and the images were obtained using 2D Logiq V2 General electric ultrasound machine. A digital exam was done to confirm the participant was in latent labour before. The median and mean AOP for the participants that had vaginal deliveries was 95.50 and 980, for Caesarean sections was 84.50 and 86.40. The association between AOP and duration of second stage had a P value of 0.388. The association between AOP and mode of delivery for vaginal deliveries had a P value of 0.01 at 95.50 while that for Caesarean deliveries had a P value of <0.01 at 84.50. AOP had an association with duration of second stage that was insignificant. A larger study needs to be done. This can be used to predict mode of delivery for patients and even used to stratify risk of operative delivery.
