Enhancing Radiation Safety in Moroccan Healthcare: A Comprehensive Study on X-Ray Dose Monitoring, Control, and Dosimeter Integration

Abstract

Ensuring the strict oversight and surveillance of X-ray doses emerges not merely as a regulatory necessity but as an urgent concern for both Moroccan healthcare institutions and regulatory authorities. This paper introduces an empirical investigation that delves deep into the rigorous control and monitoring of X-ray dosimetry within the context of Moroccan healthcare establishments. The study's findings underscore a notable observation: a substantial 62% of healthcare professionals across various organizations are exposed to ionizing radiation, lacking fundamental knowledge of radiation protection measures. This alarming revelation emphasizes an immediate need for heightened awareness and continuous training initiatives for healthcare professionals in the domain of radiation protection. Simultaneously, it calls for the urgent implementation of essential protective measures. Then, employing a comprehensive approach involving case studies, data analysis, and comparative assessments, this paper evaluates the efficacy of diverse control and monitoring strategies. The study offers practical insights and recommendations tailored for healthcare practitioners and administrators, aiming to elevate radiation safety protocols within Moroccan hospitals. Ultimately, this research aspires to contribute to the evolution of optimal practices in X-ray dose management, fostering a culture of safety and ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services in the Moroccan medical field.
