Abstract

Among the various organisms that are responsible for various diseases in plants, fungi are known to be associated with various diseases that bring about a remarkable reduction in the agricultural yields. Various diseases affecting parts of plants like stem, seeds, grains, etc are caused by fungi. In different countries of world, various measures have been put in place in mitigating diseases caused by fungi in agricultural crops. The conventional approaches involve in management of fungi have proven to be less efficient. Also the use of chemical also results to various deleterious effects on the environment. Various studies have reported the promising potential of nanotechnology in the mitigation of diseases caused by fungi. Nanotechnology involves the use of matter with dimension of 1 to 100nm in size. At this measurement scale, the materials show unique properties that differ from their bulk counter parts. This chapter, the nanofungicidal and other bioactivity of Eleusine indica are highlighted. The antibacterial effects, antiviral effects, antipyretic potentials, cardiovascular effects and antioxidant e effects are all discussed.
