This paper presents an efficient single-phase electric vehicle (EV) charging system using a flyback and buck converter configuration. The system converts a 220 V AC input into a stable 12V DC via a flyback converter, ensuring proper isolation and voltage regulation. A buck converter, controlled by Model Predictive Control (MPC), further steps down the 12 V to 4.2 V, suitable for charging a single lithium-ion battery cell. The proposed system demonstrates reliable performance, delivering stable voltage under varying conditions, making it a practical and effective solution for small-scale EV charging applications.
