The impact of salt stress on the survival and productivity of various medicinal and aromatic crops of high pharmacological interest has gradually intensified, given the socio-economic stakes involved. In fact, various environmental factors, including the salinization of agricultural soils, influence the secondary metabolism of essential oils. This abiotic restriction could exert a significant influence on essential oil concentration and chemical structure. This work examines the influence of the abiotic stress on the quantity and quality of essential oils at different stages (juvenile and adult) of rosemary, renowned for its therapeutic virtues, using gas chromatography (GC). Thus, it demonstrated a fluctuation in Rosmarinus officinalis essential oil production in relation to increased salt stress in the juvenile and adult phases.
