Effect of Risk Mitigation on Utilization of Expenditure Development: Evidence in Public Health Facilities in Kakamega County, Kenya

Abstract

Purpose: The paper aimed at Effect of risk mitigation on utilization of expenditure development: Evidence in Public Health Facilities in Kakamega County, Kenya. Design/Methodology/Approach: The research design employed descriptive and correlational research design and focused on 115 hospital administrators/CEOs of the respective public health institutions in Kakamega County. A representative sample was obtained using simple random sampling technique. Calculating sample sizes based on the formula used by Yamane (1967), a 95 % confidence level and a 5% margin of error. Data collection was facilitated by use of structured questionnaires. The instrument was tested in terms of both validity and reliability. Both inferential statistics and descriptive were employed to analyze data. Findings: The study established that Risk Mitigation exerted a positive and significant influence on expenditure development utilization. Implications/Originality/Value: The research aims to inform policy makers in Public Health Facilities to design a more expressive and active organizations that would assist administrators, will assist in increasing administrator’s morale and enhancing the overall use of expenditure development results. The findings will be useful to organizations operating in the international Strategic Management ecosystem in developing resource acquisition and competence policies.
