This research identifies the relationships among open innovation, leadership, and AI using a systematic integrative review of 60 publications within Scopus. We performed a qualitative analysis of 60 peer-reviewed articles using a systematic, integrative method. The textual data was processed with IRaMuTeQ software to extract recurring thematic structures from the data. Analysis of the results reveals three major interacting conceptual themes: strategic governance (macro-level), process engineering (micro-level), and relational capital as the cultural/human component. We compiled these results into one dynamic, multidimensional model that integrates the three themes by identifying how governance serves as a connector between Leadership and the orchestration of AI and digital technologies in open innovation. This integrative review establishes the foundations for future empirical studies exploring how leadership can be used to create environments conducive to balanced and ethical forms of creativity via AI-derived innovation.
