<title>Abstract</title> In this work, we present an integrated optical structure containing 2 ring resonators with a shared optical bus. The structure allows for controlling the coupling in one ring resonator by controlling the refractive index of the second resonator. The structure is based on the use of a 3-waveguide coupler. Thus, by controlling the effective refractive index of one resonator we can actually control the quality factor of the second resonator although each of the two ring resonators is still working as a single resonator, however, one of them is acting as a load on the second ring and hence it allows controlling its quality factor. With a simple heating mechanism applied to one ring, we show the control of the resonator quality factor of the other ring.
