This paper proposes a cost-effective smart street lighting system designed to minimize power consumption and optimize energy efficiency. Street lights act as a source of light during the night to facilitate night vision, improve security and prevent accidents. The system incorporates a cloud-based platform for monitoring and controlling the streetlights remotely, enabling real-time updates and diagnostics. One of the key features of the system is its ability to dynamically adjust the brightness of streetlights based on traffic density and real-time factors such as the presence of vehicles, pedestrian activity, and environmental conditions. During hours of low traffic, the lights operate in a dimmed state to conserve energy. However, when motion is detected, whether from vehicles or pedestrians, the lights automatically increase to full brightness, ensuring optimal visibility and safety. This dynamic control mechanism not only ensures optimal lighting but also contributes to significant energy savings by reducing unnecessary illumination during periods of low activity.
