This work presents a novel multiband cir-cular microstrip patch antenna specifically designed for radar applications. Simulation results demonstrate the performance of a circular antenna operating at frequen-cies of 2.2 GHz and 7.11 GHz. Microstrip antennas are presently preferred due to their compact and lightweight designs, which facilitate compatibility and ease of integration. This study concentrates on designing a circular microstrip antenna configuration, employing a Rogers RT5880 substrate with a t of 0.035 mm. TThe design process utilized a substrate with a relative permittivity of 2.2, a loss tangent of 0.0009, and a height of 1.575 mm. The compact antenna, measuring 40 mm x 48 mm, incorporates a circular patch with a radius of 12 mm and operates across a frequency range from 0 GHz to 10 GHz. The antenna exhibits a return loss of -53.15 dB at 7.11 GHz and -44.75 dB at 2.2 GHz. It achieves a significant bandwidth of 3.105 GHz at 7.11 GHz and 3.75 GHz at 2.2 GHz, with a Voltage Standing Wave Ratio VSWR of 1.0044 at 7.11 GHz and 1.016 at 2.2 GHz. Additionally, the antenna attains a gain of 5.005 dB at 7.11 GHz and a directivity of 6.26 dBi. The design and simulation were carried out using CST Studio Suite software, tailored for radar.
