Electrical meters have undergone several advancements in the last decade, but the issue of meter tampering remains a serious problem. The inability of energy providers to monitor usage and detect tampering remotely, as well as the lack of live updates for consumers through mobile phones, are significant challenges. To address these issues, a system utilizing GSM interface for controlling and monitoring the energy meter, and providing live updates through mobile phones, is proposed. Regardless of the poor network coverage and low educational backgrounds of the community, the project was successfully implemented and offers potential solutions to several challenges. The project's impact includes potential cost savings, improved accuracy in billing, and reduced disputes between consumers and utility companies.
