The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to the network of computing devices embedded in everyday gadgets, home appliances, and various other systems, all interconnected via the internet. These devices are programmed and networked to enable seamless communication and data exchange over the web. An IoT based smart inverter system serves as an enhancement to conventional inverter setups. Power inverters function by converting direct current (DC) from batteries or solar photovoltaic (PV) cells into alternating current (AC), which powers household appliances. Inverters act as backup energy sources, providing an alternative supply during power interruptions or outages. In this work, an IoT-enabled smart inverter using Wi-Fi technology was designed and implemented. This system allows for two-way communication with users, delivering real-time information on key parameters such as battery voltage, battery current, load voltages, load current, and ambient temperature. The design also features wireless control of loads connected to the inverter, offering enhanced convenience and flexibility for users. Performance evaluation showed that when operating with a 200W load, the inverter delivered 0.89A at 223V and with 800W load, the output current and voltage measured 3.36A and 220V, respectively.
