The study highlights the cytotoxic potential of xanthones derived from <i>Garcinia mangostana</i> pericarp. Among the isolated metabolites, garcinone D and α-mangostin emerged as promising lead compounds for further anticancer drug development due to their significant in vitro cytotoxic effects.
