Correction on: Abd El-Halim, M. D., Osman, A., Ibrahim, M. A., El-Azab, M. M., El-Saber, M. M., Ismail, S. H., ... & Sitohy, B. (2026). Green-synthesized rhein-selenium nanoparticles exhibit potent and highly selective anticancer activity against colon cancer via apoptosis and gene regulation. Frontiers in Chemistry, 14, 1727890. DOI 10.3389/fchem.2026.1727890 There were missing values in the legend of Figure 3 and were added in yellow as it follows: The surface and structural characterization of the rhein-coated selenium nanoparticles in this work was in fact based on FTIR spectroscopy, UV-Vis reduction kinetics, TEM, and SEM-EDX elemental and line-scan analysis. These techniques collectively and adequately support the conclusions drawn: FTIR confirmed the molecular interactions and carboxylate coordination between rhein and the selenium surface, while the SEM-EDX line-scan profiles (n = 25) directly visualized the core-shell architecture (selenium core, FWHM = 28.4 ± 3.1 nm; rhein coating extending 1.8 ± 0.4 nm per side).Accordingly, we have corrected both sentences in the revised manuscript as follows:Introduction (Page 3) -Original: "…ensuring reproducible synthesis and defined molecular interactions, as confirmed by FTIR and XPS spectroscopy."Corrected: "…ensuring reproducible synthesis and defined molecular interactions, as confirmed by FTIR spectroscopy."Original Discussion (Page 12) -Original: "…validating proposed nanoparticle structure and complementing bulk FTIR/XPS surface characterization."Corrected: "…validating the proposed nanoparticle structure and complementing the FTIR surface characterization." All other claims in the manuscript remain fully supported by the experimental data presented in the Methods, Results, and figures. We sincerely apologize for this oversight and appreciate vigilance, which has improved the accuracy of the manuscript.
