Corrosion and scaling are one of major problems facing petrochemical industries. It has received wide attention in recent decades due to the continued dependence of the global economy on industries based on oil and natural gas… With annual corrosion cost estimated at billions of dollars, suitable corrosion mitigation approaches are required to prevent assets failure due to the menace of corrosion and scale. A vast amount of information on corrosion, Naphthenic acids and scaling mitigation in the petrochemical manufacturing process is available. The corrosion and scale behavior of the head circuit of the air fin coolers used in refineries and petrochemicals industries were investigated using chemical, electrochemical measurements and SEM/EDAX analyses.
