Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a viral disease due to SARS-COV-2 that has quickly become a global pandemic. The first case was declared in China, and then 629 million confirmed cases were declared worldwide as of 28 th October 2022, with 6.59 million deaths registered. 1 On 3 rd March 2020, the first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Morocco, and by 28 th October 2022, the total number of cases had reached 1.27 million confirmed cases, with a death toll of 16,281. 2 In Morocco, as elsewhere, the COVID-19 pandemic spread in recurrent waves during the statistical data about cases, hospitalizations and deaths increased considerably. The first wave started once the first case was diagnosed and lasted until November 2021, and the second wave spread between July and September 2021. It's worth mentioning that anti-COVID vaccination began in Morocco on 12 th February 2021 and had initially targeted the high-risk population.
