CL4GIE-Onto: An Ontology of Carbon Literacy for Green Innovation Entrepreneurship in Sub-Saharan Africa

Abstract

CL4GIE-Onto is an OWL 2 DL ontology on carbon literacy for green innovation entrepreneurship in Sub-Saharan Africa. It employs three modular namespaces: a climate-science module (cl:) axiomatising greenhouse effect, climate knowledge and mitigation mechanisms; a green-innovation-entrepreneurship module (giel:) axiomatising green products, services, and business-model constructs; and an integration module (cl4gie:) linking mitigation problems to enterprise solutions via several properties such as cl4gie:targetsGHG, cl4gie:isLocatedIn, and cl4gie:hasSector. The TBox axiomatises the Theory of Planned Behaviour and Self-Determination Theory as formal constructs for learner modelling. The ABox contains over 550 ABox individuall s with more than seventy verified SSA green-enterprise individuals, validated using Pellet and HermiT 1.4.3 reasoners.
