In a context where digital technology and cultural changes are overturning teaching methods, sociopedagogical communication is becoming an essential pillar in facilitating the transmission of knowledge, as well as learner engagement. In a society where information has become ubiquitous, to what extent can cinema, as a technological and artistic medium, strengthen this form of communication ? On the one hand, it uses images, sound and stories to capture attention, while at the same time stimulating personal emotions and vice versa, making information more accessible and lasting. On the other hand, sociopedagogical communication is discursive, that is, it is based on a meaningful exchange of meaning between teachers and learners. Cinema contributes to this dynamic by consolidating motivation, engaging in the awakening of creativity, and developing each person’s critical spirit towards the film. To enhance this interaction, cinema uses different techniques such as editing, music, etc... Used in the classroom, films can have a variety of pedagogical functions, contributing both to written and oral skills and to the development of critical thinking. According to some studies, cinema enhances empathy, self-confidence and intercultural understanding. Problems do exist, such as teacher training and unintentional misinterpretation of the message. The Future perspectives are the integration of cinema into curricula, the development of educational resources and the development of interdisciplinary approaches. In this way, the cinema is no longer a danger, but when used properly it contributes to innovative teaching methods.
