Blockchain Technology in Sports: Revolutionizing Contracts, Fan Engagement, and Data Security

Abstract

Blockchain technology has emerged as a transformative tool with significant potential in healthcare, supply chain management, and the sports industry. In the sports industry, blockchain applications, including smart contracts and fan tokens, are gaining traction for improving athlete management, fan engagement, and data security. Smart contracts offer transparency and efficiency in sports transactions, while fan tokens empower fans and generate new revenue streams. However, concerns about commercialization and privacy persist. The technology also holds promise for addressing corruption and enhancing governance through decentralized platforms. Nevertheless, blockchain faces scalability and security challenges that require innovative solutions.
