Bioenergy-A Review on Biofuels and Biomass Conversion

Abstract

Bioenergy is a unique and emerging source of renewable energy. Making energy out of waste. Storing energy with little energy loss. Seems interesting. Bioenergy provides a secure and economically sound future and domestic clean energy sources using biomass (biological resources for energy); though it has its disadvantages. Bioenergy can be harmful to the soil and can also pollute water, etc. It is used especially for cooking and in the generation of combined heat and power, and conversion into transportation fuels. Biomass comes from many raw materials such as wood, manure, agricultural crops, etc. The aim of this study is to provide an overview of bioenergy, including biofuels and the conversion of biomass. Attention was also paid to the manufacturing of biofuels and their potential as a good market for large scale green sustainable biomass products.
