Behavioral Analysis of NOVELI: A Novel Indicator for Voltage Stability Compared to Classical Methods

Abstract

The monitoring of electrical networks remains an essential task for network operators. Voltage stability and load margins are vital for both ensuring the safe operation of electrical networks and for their analysis. This paper conducts a voltagestability analysis across multiple methods and compares their performance as system loading increases. A new voltage-stability indicator, NOVELI, is compared with recently developed and widely used indicators-FVSI, LQP, MLSISP, NVSI, BVSI, NCPI, and MSAI-on an IEEE 14-bus test network under different load-increase scenarios.
