Artificial Intelligence In Software-Defined Networks Security: A Survey

Abstract

The convergence of Software-Defined Networking and Artificial Intelligence represents a significant advancement in network security management. As organizations increasingly adopt SDN architectures, this has led to new vulnerabilities, mainly as a result of the centralized nature of SDN. Nevertheless, this same attribute provided an opportunity for extensive AI use to monitor different patterns and safeguard SDN against threats proactively. Understanding the role and effectiveness of AI-based security solutions is indeed crucial. This paper aims to analyze and synthesize the existing research on AI applications in SDN security, identifying current trends, limitations, and potential research directions.
