Anticancer Bioactive Compounds from Nigerian Medicinal Plants: A Review

Abstract

Cancer remains the leading global cause of death, with fatalities rising daily. Medicinal plants have long been used in cancer management, particularly in developing countries such as Nigeria. Synthetic drugs, though commonly used for cancer treatment, often come with harmful side effects. As a result, the use of easily accessible and affordable medicinal plants offers a promising alternative to mitigate the toxicity linked to synthetic treatments.
