This study evaluated the role of traditional leaders in water resource management in Mambu-Bafut, Cameroon. Using a descriptive, exploratory approach, data was collected from 50 respondents through questionnaires and observations, then analysed with descriptive statistics. The findings indicate that most participants believe traditional leaders are active in water management. Specifically, they institute fines for water pollution, raise financial awareness about water management, address issues of water availability, quality, and cost, and contribute to building, operating, and maintaining water infrastructure. The research underscores the importance of traditional leaders and institutions in governing water resources to promote sustainability in the region.
