This study provides a comparative analysis of two paradigms approaches among which Lambda and Kappa architectures are widely recognized, evaluating their performance based on key metrics such as latency and throughput. Lambda model is capable of generating prediction in Either real time and batch processing mechanisms. The Kappa simplifies this structure by removing the batch component. It is assessed and examined for its efficiency in reducing processing delays and system complexity, explored with a focus on their advantages and limitations under modern conditions. Among the frameworks examined are Apache Spark Streaming and Apache Kafka, emphasizing their applicability to various data processing tasks. To determine the more suitable architecture, experiments were conducted under identical conditions, focusing on execution time and resource usage efficiency. These tests were implemented using wordcount case study. The finding show that the kappa architecture consistently surpass Lambda architecture in real-time performance, by sustaining low latency and delivering faster execution. Conversely, Lambda is affected by high latency resulting from batch operations, which significantly reduces its throughput. Over the course of both the 10 and 20 execution tests. Kappa architecture is built to enhance data throughput and reduce response time, making it highly suitable for continuous real-time Data handling. As opposed to that Lambda, remains bounded by its batch processing delays, degrading its capability for real-time use cases, it can still be harnessed for retrospective data analysis.
