Abstract

Although synthetic corrosion inhibitors have proven effective, there's a growing interest in eco-friendly alternatives. This shift has spurred the development of green chemistry technologies, emphasizing non-toxic materials with minimal environmental impact. Compounds like phosphate, calcium phosphate, and rare earth-enriched apatite show promise as both effective and environmentally friendly inhibitors. This chapter delves into documented corrosion inhibitors, aiming to provide insights into recent advancements. With a focus on inorganic variations, it seeks to uncover their corrosion-inhibiting mechanisms. Through analysis of various studies, the chapter aims to offer a comprehensive understanding of their efficacy and environmental impact. Additionally, it presents a comparative evaluation with traditional toxic inhibitors to underscore the benefits of adopting green corrosion inhibition strategies. This discussion contributes to ongoing efforts in developing sustainable corrosion mitigation solutions for various industrial applications
