The construction industry will benefit more from the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), which will enhance output, efficiency, teamwork, and product quality while advancing sustainability and safety. However, there is a shortage of studies in developing nations on using 4IR technologies in building construction. Determining the elements that affect the effectiveness of technology implementation and comprehending the capacity of construction businesses to embrace new technologies is essential. The degree of technological development of the construction market in an emerging economy can be assessed through the potential for implementing innovation and the factors that may influence technological development. A questionnaire-based survey was administered to construction professionals. The findings indicated that most innovations are still in the early phases of implementation in the construction industry and that acceptance of these technologies varies by firm size and stage of the building lifecycle. Additionally, virtualization technologies tend to foster the gradual adoption of new technology. In addition to identifying possible obstacles and facilitators of adoption in the context under analysis, this study offers a framework to help with decision-making about adopting 4IR technologies at various stages of the lifespan of building projects.
