Abstract This paper focuses on the analysis and development of a compact, reconfigurable UWB antenna to create a dual-band Filtenna dedicated to modern miniaturized communication systems. The proposed Filtenna incorporates three MPP 4203 PIN diodes in the radiating patch to suppress unwanted frequency bands. This small antenna (16 × 20 mm 2 ) offers a wide operating bandwidth from 2.8 GHz to 10.75 GHz and provides precise, reconfigurable bandwidths on critical bands, in particular the sub-6 GHz 5G band (3.3–3.6 GHz) and the Wi-Fi 6E band (5.925–7.125 GHz) bands. Simulations and measurements demonstrate favorable impedance matching with a VSWR consistently below 2 across the entire bandwidth, except in the notch bands. The filtenna has a gain of between 0 and 2.5 dBi across the entire bandwidth, with a sharp drop of below –8 dBi in the rejected bands. Moreover, its satisfactory gain performance and stable radiation patterns confirm its suitability for multi-standard wireless applications.
