Ischemic stroke causes a significant worldwide health burden, with high morbidity and fatality rates. The absence of oxygen and glucose during an ischemia event triggers anaerobic metabolism, resulting in lactate accumulation and an increase in Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity. Thus, in order to assess the LDH as a prognostic biomarker in IS, we conducted the first systematic review and meta‐analysis.
