The question this study addressed. This study assessed the prevalence and types of ventilatory disorders among 141 MDR-TB survivors in Douala and explored whether clinical factors or environmental exposures predict these abnormalities. What the study adds to our knowledge. A staggering 44% of "cured" patients suffer from persistent ventilatory impairment, primarily obstructive (26.4%). Crucially, traditional risk factors and clinical symptoms failed to significantly predict these deficits, highlighting the need for objective testing.
