This research examines the economic, environmental, and social implications to emphasize the present and future perspectives of tribology sustainability. During that time, tribology supported high-speed, powerful machinery with resources- and energy-saving technologies. Over time, several types of resource reserves, including those for metals and energy, have become insufficient. To build new lifestyles and sustainability for the existence of humans and other living things in symbiotic ways, revolutionarily sustainable and zero-emission technologies are in great demand in the industrial world. By developing its science and technology to meet the demand for new industrial products, tribology aims to support this change. The significance of sustainable tribology is emphasized in this paper from both a present and a future perspective. Looking at numerous scenarios, with friction being the first case and how it impacts production processes and the economy, the second case under consideration is wear, and the third case study is lubrication, which examines how it impacts our lives and our surroundings, while wear examines how the wearing of materials influences tribology. In addition, this study seeks to show that from an industrial perspective; significantly higher tribology sustainability will offer stability to our planet and more feasible long-term growth to our society.
