This paper describes a stochastic approach to the dynamic behavior of the pole vaulting system which is identical to an inverted pendulum. This model is considered as a tool to study the influence of different parameters on the performance of the jump. In this research, we propose a stochastic optimization approach to take into account uncertainties, based on the use of the perturbation method (PM), and the Monte Carlo method (MC), in order to determine the dynamic response of this mass-spring system, in which the associated parameters are uncertain, as well as to optimize the computation time. The results of the perturbation method are compared to those of the Monte Carlo reference method via the MATLAB environment.
