This paper proposes the Spider-Tailed Horned Viper Optimiser (STHVO), a novel metaheuristic algorithm for maximum power point tracking of photovoltaic systems. The spider tail horned viper's hunting strategy serves as the model for the new strategy, which highlights the speed and accuracy of Mppt tracking in dynamic atmospheric conditions. The results of the simulation experiments demonstrate that the STHVO strategy outperforms the traditional techniques, such as Perturb and Observe (P&O) and Grey Wolf Optimiser (GWO), in terms of energy conversion efficiency, with a value of 98.05%. Along with significantly enhancing voltage stability, power loss, and total harmonic distortion (THD), STHVO also has a very convergent time of 0.25 seconds, which enhances the already improved response time even furtherThe outcomes confirm that STHVO performs well and in a variety of ways to support the stability and efficiency of shaded PV arrays. STHVO performance under partial shading and experimental verification using a hardware test bench will be the subjects of future research.
