This paper presents the design of a low-reflection patch antenna for high-resolution medical X-band applications. Two techniques have been applied to improve its performance: i) the use of a partial GND and ii) the inclusion of notches in the radiating element. Simulation results, obtained using Ansys HFSS software, demonstrate a reflection coefficient of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{-41.97 ~ dB}$</tex> for a frequency of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{12.93} \text{~ GHz}$</tex>.
