A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF INEQUALITIES AND DISPARITIES IN MOROCCO

Abstract

This paper is a review of previous works dealing with inequality and disparity in Morocco, including international and national reports, books and research papers published during the last three decades. It traces the main findings on socioeconomic inequalities, health inequities and territorial disparities that affected persistently vital sectors like health, education, economy, employment and other activities. Despite the undeniable progress (in average) reported in almost all documents reviewed, achievements remain incomplete due to the inequitable distribution of resources, which disadvantages some segments of the population compared to others, while the Sustainable Development Goals require that “no one should be left behind”.
