Leonard Ogembo

I am a global advisor on the digital economy, commercialization and financial inclusion with a simple ethos: build ecosystems, empower others, and unlock transformative change that leaves no one behind. My work has taken me across 23+ countries and 3 continents, leading teams and initiatives for UNCDF, IESC, DAI, and the World Bank Group, and over 30 bank institutions and micro- and SME partners. From the Pacific to Africa and Asia, I specialize in translating ambitious plans into practical, locally relevant results—whether that’s catalyzing digital finance in Kiribati or reforming consumer protection policy in Kenya. I am excited by the possibility of seeing digital and AI turn barriers into springboards for youth, women, marginalized communities, and emerging entrepreneurs. I’m passionate about policy (done right), market-building, mentoring talent, collaborative learning, and opening doors for others to climb higher than I have.
